Blackjack at Cascades Casino Penticton

Our table-games floor works on a schedule that can catch new guests by surprise. Live blackjack is one of the core games we spread, but it does not run seven days a week. If you come in on a Monday planning to sit right down at a table, the evening will not unfold the way you expected.

Cascades Casino Penticton is located at 553 Vees Drive in Penticton, British Columbia and operates as a BCLC-regulated gaming facility. The building is open longer than the table area, so we always suggest checking both sets of hours separately.

Live table games are available Wednesday through Saturday from 4 PM into the late evening, and Sunday from 2 PM until 10 PM. The main casino floor opens earlier: Sunday through Thursday from 10 AM until midnight, and on Friday and Saturday from 10 AM until 2 AM. If blackjack is your main reason for coming in, the window that matters is Wednesday to Sunday during those table hours.

Kings Bounty Blackjack - What We Actually Run at Our Tables

The blackjack game we offer is Kings Bounty Blackjack. It is a house-banked live table game, so you are always playing against the dealer rather than against the other people at the table. The base of the game follows standard blackjack rules, with the usual decisions on hit, stand, double, and splits.

On top of that base game, Kings Bounty includes an optional side bet. This is an extra wager you can make before the cards are dealt. Some regulars place the side bet on every hand, others almost never touch it. Both styles fit just fine at our tables.

A typical session at our blackjack tables usually looks like this:

  1. Find a seat at an open blackjack table during live table-game hours.
  2. Buy in by exchanging your cash for chips directly with the dealer.
  3. Put your main wager in the betting circle before the dealer starts the deal.
  4. Decide if you also want to place the Kings Bounty side bet - that decision has to be made before cards are dealt.
  5. You receive two cards face up, while the dealer gets one card face up and one card face down.
  6. Based on your hand and the dealer up card, you choose whether to hit, stand, double down, or split when allowed.
  7. The dealer then turns over the hole card and completes the hand according to the house rules.
  8. Winning and losing bets are settled right after each hand is finished.

If Kings Bounty Blackjack is new to you, just ask the dealer to explain the side-bet pay table first. Our team does that walk-through very often, and it usually takes only a couple of minutes before you feel comfortable.

Table Hours vs Casino Hours - Worth Knowing Before You Drive Over

We see the same assumption over and over: guests think that if the casino is open, the live tables must be open too. That is not how our operation is set up, and over the years we have learned that being clear about it saves people a wasted drive.

The overview below shows both sets of hours in one place.

Hours can change slightly. Calling us at (250) 487-1280 before you head over is, in practice, the simplest way to confirm that blackjack tables are running that night.

Other Games on the Same Floor

When the live table area is open, it is not only about blackjack. Some guests like to stay on one game all evening, others prefer to change things up without leaving the section, and the floor is laid out with that in mind.

The current table-game mix includes Kings Bounty Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Fast Action Poker, Three Card Poker, live Roulette, Electronic Roulette, and Texas Hold’em on selected days. Electronic table games and e-roulette typically follow a broader timetable than the live tables; in other words, some of those electronic options may be running outside the core Wednesday-to-Sunday live schedule. It is worth checking with the floor team when you arrive so you know what is active that day.

Blackjack Tables and Hours

Cascades Casino Penticton offers Kings Bounty Blackjack as a core live table game at 553 Vees Drive, Penticton, British Columbia.

  • Table games run Wednesday through Saturday from 4 PM to late, and Sunday from 2 PM until 10 PM.
  • The main casino floor is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 AM until midnight, and Friday through Saturday from 10 AM until 2 AM.
  • Kings Bounty Blackjack is a house-banked game where you play against the dealer, with standard hit, stand, double, and split decisions available.
  • An optional side bet is part of the Kings Bounty format, placed before cards are dealt.
  • Other table games on the floor include Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Fast Action Poker, and Roulette. If blackjack is the main reason for your visit, plan around the table hours rather than the general casino hours, as the two schedules differ. The property also includes MATCH Eatery and Public House for dining before or after play.

Before You Come - A Few Practical Things

A first visit usually goes smoother when a couple of small details are sorted out in advance. None of it is difficult, but skipping these points can slow you down at the door.

  1. Make sure your visit lines up with a table-game day - Wednesday to Saturday, or Sunday.
  2. Confirm the current hours on cascadescasinopenticton.com or by calling (250) 487-1280, especially if you are driving in from outside Penticton.
  3. Bring valid government-issued photo ID. BCLC casinos are required to verify age at entry, and we do not have exceptions on that rule.
  4. Come prepared with Canadian dollars in cash or a debit card if you plan to purchase chips at the cage.

One general habit we always recommend, not just at our property: set a clear session budget before you step onto the gaming floor. It is far easier to respect a limit you decided on ahead of time than a number you are trying to piece together halfway through a session.

Once you have checked in at the entrance, our staff can point you directly to the table-games section. The full casino covers roughly 45,000 square feet, so the live tables sit inside a bigger space that also includes the slot floor and dining areas.

Slots and the Broader Gaming Floor

When live tables are closed, or even just while you are taking a break between blackjack shoes, the slot machines become the main alternative on the floor. When we opened in April 2017, the property launched with around 400 slot titles, and that area operates during all standard casino hours, including the days when table games are dark.

Here is a simple look at how the different gaming areas line up:

Cascades Casino Penticton took over from the former Lake City Casino Penticton, which closed on April 2, 2017. We opened three days later, on April 5, at the current Vees Drive location. With that transition came a larger gaming floor, an updated selection of games, and the MATCH Eatery and Public House dining concept within the same building.

Dining and the Rest of the Evening

MATCH Eatery and Public House is our on-site restaurant and bar. It offers full-service food, drinks, and a live entertainment stage, all under the same roof as the casino. You can wrap up a blackjack session and be sitting down for dinner or a drink in just a few minutes without stepping outside.

The entire property is built around the “Eat. Drink. Play.” idea, and in practice that is exactly how most evenings unfold here. Gaming, dining, and entertainment are integrated across that same 45,000-square-foot footprint. A visit that starts with a plan to simply play blackjack can easily turn into a full night out without adding any extra stops.

Responsible Gaming

Cascades Casino Penticton operates under the BCLC framework for gaming in the province. The GameSense responsible gambling program is part of that framework and is available on our floor as well. You will find information on how to set limits, how to take time away from play, and how odds work for different games.

If you would like help finding those resources or have concerns about your play, any member of our staff can direct you to the right place. The BCLC standards apply across all of our gaming activity here - blackjack tables, other table games, slots, and electronic games.
