What We Run Here
Cascades Casino Penticton sits at 201-553 Vees Drive, inside the South Okanagan Events Centre district. This location is convenient for guests who want to combine gaming with a concert, match, or other nearby event. The gaming floor covers approximately 45,000 square feet. The property is managed by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited and operates under the oversight of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
All gaming on-site follows provincial BCLC standards. This covers licensing, compliance checks, regulatory requirements, and the responsible gambling principles that apply across all casinos in British Columbia.
The slot area features over 400 machines. Denominations start at 1 cent and go up to 1 dollar, with a mix of modern video slots and more classic reel-style machines. One important note: machines accept Canadian bills only. If you are arriving with foreign currency, the on-site cashier can handle the exchange at the current rate before you play.
Table games run on a set schedule: Wednesday through Saturday from 4:30 PM into the late evening, and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Currently available games include:
- Ultimate Texas Hold’em
- Fast Action Poker
- Kings Bounty Blackjack
- Live Roulette – Fridays and Saturdays only
- Texas Hold’em Poker – Friday through Sunday
Roulette and live Texas Hold’em are not offered every day, so if you are planning a visit specifically for those games, it is worth confirming which tables will be open before you make the trip.
Hours - Casino and MATCH Eatery
The casino floor and MATCH Eatery operate on different schedules, and in practice that distinction matters more than it might seem at first.
| Venue | Sunday - Thursday | Friday - Saturday |
|---|---|---|
| Casino Floor | 10:00 am - 12:00 am | 10:00 am - 2:00 am |
| MATCH Eatery and Public House | 11:00 am - 10:00 pm | 11:00 am - 1:00 am |
The casino floor opens every day at 10:00 am. On Fridays and Saturdays we stay open until 2:00 am, which typically lines up with late finishes at the neighbouring Events Centre. MATCH Eatery opens an hour after the casino and closes earlier. On weeknights the kitchen and bar wrap up at 10:00 pm, so if dinner is part of your plan, it is worth not leaving it too late in the evening.
A practical tip: if you are planning to catch a show and then stop in for a meal and some gaming afterward, check when the event ends and compare that against MATCH’s closing time. It is a small step that can save you from arriving at a restaurant that has already closed for the night.
Getting Around the Floor
A first visit is generally straightforward. Valid government-issued photo ID is required at the entrance to the gaming floor. The minimum age for gaming in British Columbia is 19, and age is checked on every visit.
If you are carrying foreign currency, the best move is to stop at the cashier before you start playing. The cashier will exchange your funds into Canadian dollars. From there you can either load credits onto a ticket for the slot machines or purchase chips for the table games.
The current table game schedule is posted near the table area. We keep it visible so you can quickly check which tables are open on a given day. This is especially useful mid-week, when the table selection is a bit narrower than on a Friday or Saturday.
A specific note on poker: the Texas Hold’em table runs Friday through Sunday only. On other days it will not be in action — that is simply part of the regular weekly schedule.
Slot tickets can be cashed out at the cashier or through a ticket redemption machine on the gaming floor. For larger payouts or if you need to discuss alternative payout options, it is best to speak directly with cashier staff. Full details on those transactions are handled on-site rather than published in advance.
MATCH Eatery and Public House
MATCH Eatery and Public House operates as a sports bar and restaurant — a format Gateway uses across several of its properties. It is located inside the casino, which makes it convenient both as a spot for a meal before gaming and as a place to wind down at the end of the evening.
On nights when a concert or game is on at the South Okanagan Events Centre, a common pattern among guests is to meet at MATCH, head over to the show, and then return afterward to the gaming floor. It is a relaxed way to structure the evening without needing to plan around multiple separate venues.
For table reservations or menu details on a specific day, the easiest option is to call our main line directly at +1 250-487-1280. There is also a dedicated number for MATCH Eatery and Public House: 778-476-8555.
